As a specialty in Harbin, Demoli Style Stewed Fish originated in a small village called Demoli, phonetically translated from Russian, in the suburb of Harbin. In the early 1980s, an old couple opened a small restaurant to receive passers-by. They stewed tofu, thick vermicelli and carp just out of Ussuri River. This dish was delicious in taste and spread around fast.

It generally takes carp as its main ingredient. Its ingredients are all local specialties, and the water it used is the groundwater in the village, which has come up to the standard of national drinking natural mineral water.
It is fresh and tender with long lasting and distinctive taste, which can be called an excellent and unique dish.
